Dust Suppression Roads – DustBinder (Lignin)
DustBinder is a dark brown, high solids content Lignin Sulphonate that is used for both primary and secondary roads dust suppression. DustBinder when dry, forms a strong, stabilised, dust controlled surface. DustBinder softens when exposed to water, allowing for easy routine maintenance and grading to be actioned.
What Does The Product Do
Once the moisture of DustBinder has evaporated, the sticky natural polymers coalesce the road fine particles in a homogenous bound, flexible but firm road surface layer. As DustBinder is repetitively applied this bound surface layer becomes thicker and stronger.
What Does The Product Achieve
By binding road surface fines with DustBinder the following will be achieved:
Water Savings: Effective dust suppression with approximately 70% less water – totalled per month.
Diesel Savings and Increased Water Truck Utilisation: Application of DustBinder lasts significantly longer than “water only” applications, allowing Water Trucks to be utilised in other areas. This results in diesel and water savings by reducing the re-wetting of the same area of road as frequently.
Decreased Risk of Section 54: By effectively and efficiently managing dust, challenging conditions can be easily handled, reducing any risk of receiving a Section 54.
