Igugu Industries supplies fog spray and rejuvenator products for ageing road surfaces: SS60 for fog sprays and enrichment sprays, diluted with water on site, and a hydrocarbon-enriched, penetrating asphalt rejuvenator for oxidised asphalt. Fog spray and enrichment spray emulsion
A diluted emulsion for surface enrichment: SS60 anionic stable grade emulsion, diluted with water 50/50 or as your specification states, and sprayed lightly onto existing, aged seals and bituminous surfacings.

Where it is used
- Enrichment (fog) spray on existing, aged seals and bituminous surfacings during their service life.
- A pre-treatment fog spray before a new surfacing seal, where the contract specifies it.
- Maintenance treatment of existing bituminous surfacings.
- Diluted 50/50, as a cover spray on Cape seals and a void-filling coat before slurry.
For a cover spray on a new chip seal, use a cationic spray grade.

Asphalt rejuvenator (hydrocarbon-enriched, penetrating)
A hydrocarbon-enriched rejuvenator that penetrates aged, oxidised asphalt and other bituminous surfaces. It reverses the effect of oxidation and slows further oxidation.

It is a surface treatment for an existing road, not the rejuvenating agent added to reclaimed asphalt during mixing.

Diluting SS60 for a fog spray
- SS60 is delivered undiluted and diluted on site, 50/50 or as your specification states.
- Use clean water, and add the water to the emulsion.
- Heat to about 60 °C for spraying.
- Protect it from freezing, and never mix it with a cationic emulsion.

What is a fog spray?
A fog spray is a light application of diluted bitumen emulsion on an existing surfacing, also called an enrichment spray or surface enrichment. Igugu Industries supplies SS60 for fog sprays, which you dilute with water on site, 50/50 or as your specification states.
Is a rejuvenator the same as a fog spray?
No. A fog spray is a light application of diluted bitumen emulsion; an asphalt rejuvenator is a separate, hydrocarbon-enriched product that penetrates aged, oxidised asphalt. Igugu Industries supplies both.
When is an asphalt rejuvenator used?
On aged, oxidised asphalt and other bituminous surfaces, to reverse the effect of oxidation and slow further oxidation. Send Igugu Industries photos of the surface and tell us its age, and we advise whether a rejuvenator, a fog spray or a reseal suits the job.
Is the fog spray emulsion delivered already diluted?
