Hydrogel Water Extender & Dust Suppressant
Igugu Industries manufactures and supplies Hydrogel, a concentrated polymer additive for water carts that keeps haul roads wetter for longer on less water. Dosed at the fill point, it suits in-pit roads, ramps and secondary routes that change often, and comes in two variants: Standard and Super concentrate. Supplied in flowbins, with drums or bulk on request, and delivered to the mine in all nine provinces.

How it works
Hydrogel is a concentrated polymer additive. It is dosed from the supplied flowbin or your on-site storage tanks into the already water-filled truck at the fill point, by a pre-programmed dosing pump. It mixes rapidly with the water into a thicker solution, which goes on the haul road with your standard watering practice. Dosing can also be done by hand from 20 L containers, or by a timer-controlled pump powered from the site’s supply.

Hydrogel or a road binder?
Hydrogel suits roads that move and change: ramps, in-pit roads and secondary routes. For primary haul roads and access roads you want to water far less often, a binder such as DustBinder Lignin holds the fines in a crust that builds with each application. Tell us about your roads and we advise per road.
